‘From Status Quo to Status Whoa’

I am a fitness professional based out of the greater Seattle area. I currently hold two, soon to be three accredited training certifications in my field.

I had it kind of different than most. Living where I’m at, during my humble beginnings hardly anybody knew about this style of fitness from day one. Words can’t describe how blessed I was to receive this opportunity with the Calisthenics Kingz team some time ago but I shared the dream years before I saw my first youtube videos. My first encounter was truly an ode to resilience. To stay sharp I had to train. This meant finding new ways above and beyond conventional weightlifting. There was no gym where I was at the time or means to enter, so I dropped the weights and picked up my own self as I took to the bars – The rest was history.

Along with having the Soldier’s creed and Warrior ethos in my heart, I truly believe in the Kingz’ 4 D system, Drive, Determination Discipline Dedication. Without these you can’t really truly move forward in whatever it is that you do. Being a bar athlete’s helped me in more ways than one. I find that I now have more time and energy to accomplish everything in my path. Not only has it made a positive impact on me but others around me as well. Because of the confidence I can now rightfully claim, I’ve been able to stay true to my highest calling – helping and educating others.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”15518″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=”” el_class=”red_border”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner row_type=”row” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” css_animation=”” css=”.vc_custom_1465844457497{margin-top: 30px !important;margin-bottom: 30px !important;}”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]I don’t want to be the best in the sport or even the world. I train to endure life. From my experience in the military I learned this takes a very strong will. When it’s my time to get the job done I just want to be at my most capable. I don’t workout to look good or impress people – I do it to condition myself to survive.

To me it’s more than a sport. It’s my meditation, my “me” time, my zen. The bar is a canvas and your body is the paint brush. Whether it’s putting in work on the bar or hand balancing I feel intune to my WHOLE self — The world around me slows down and I am free.

If I had one wish it’s that others felt this fire like they feel the rain. My goal is to inspire them to.As an instructor I have had my share of wins and losses but the positive impact I have made worldwide, you can’t buy that or sum it up with statistics. I treat my mind and body as tools of my trade and continue to further my education and hone my craft daily in pursuit to provide the best experience for my students and clients alike.
